In the Previous Miss Rwanda, parents of pageants had scorned the contests, but this time, parents have been heavily involved in promoting their daughters.

The mother of Lynca Akacu, a Miss Rwanda contestant, paid for her daughter’s advertisement seeking support through a giant public display screen in Kigali.

KTPress also learnt that Akacu’s mother flew from Congo Brazaville to attend the final selection for miss Rwanda in which she pledged 100% support to her daughter.

The lady who will be crowned Miss Rwanda 2015, will scoop a Suzuki SUV car worth Rwf 15M ($22,000). She will also earn a monthly $1000 during her reign.

Colombe Akiwacu, Miss Rwanda 2014 advised her successor, “let her work the talk; she should have a plan and always have alternative whenever initial strategy does not work.”
