July 2, Greek Defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos became another player who joined Arsenal FC, thus becoming another Gunner coming to wear the jersey that will promote Rwanda for the next three years.

In May, Rwanda signed with the Premier league Arsenal FC deal to promote the country through different components. All the Arsenal FC team will, in the period agreed upon, wear jersey with a mention’Visit Rwanda’ on the sleeve.

The same will be also visible in the Club’s press conferences and their stadium. Arsenal players will visit Rwanda while the team will also promote local soccer.

Joining the Gunners, Sokratis is coming from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee, according to www.premierleague.com.

The central defender has agreed a “long-term” deal at Emirates Stadium after signing for an undisclosed fee, subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

The 30-year-old has 79 caps for Greece and has spent the last five seasons at the Bundesliga side, making 130 league appearances and scoring seven goals.

He is the third defensive signing of the summer transfer window by Arsenal, after Stephan Lichtsteiner’s arrival from Juventus, and goalkeeper Bernd Leno, from Bayer Leverkusen.

Sokratis will wear the No 5 shirt at Arsenal, who will open the 2018/19 Premier League season at home to Manchester City on the weekend of 11-12 August, premierleague.com writes.
