Rwanda National Police Complete Rotation of Peacekeepers to South Sudan

Police peacekeepers board to Juba, November 26,2018

Rwanda National Police(RNP) have deployed 240 police force for a one-year peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Commissioner of Police (CM) Jean Bosco Kabera, Police spokesperson told KT Press on Monday, that the deployed force include 190 males and 50 females.

“They are replacing 240 police who have been working in Malkar, South Sudan and it is done on a one-year rotational basis,” Kabera told KT Press.

The contingent was airlifted by National carrier, Rwanda Air and transited to Juba, South Sudanese capital.

RNP police peacekeepers back from one year mission in South Sudan

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Felix Namuhoranye, challenged deployed officers to be exemplary, serve with passion, ensure maximum discipline and uphold Rwandan values.

This year, RNP deployed over 1000 police officers to UN peace keeping missions in Haiti, South Sudan and Central African Republic.
