The President of Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) Etienne Tshisekedi has met President Paul Kagame in Kigali.

Tshisekedi arrived in Rwanda a couple of minutes ago for the Africa CEO forum which will run from March 25th through 26th at Kigali International Airport, he was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Richard Sezibera among other officials.

Rwanda and DRC’s diplomatic relationship is good and both countries share several natural opportunities including the methane gas store in Lake Kivu.

DRC is an important trade partner of Rwanda. Goods from Rwanda enter DRC through La Chroniche border and Petite Barriere in Rubavu. Other borders are in Rusizi.

On March 13, Richard Sezibera told the media that Tshisekedi was invited by his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame.

The previous day, Vital Kamerhe, director of cabinet in office of Tshisekedi led a delegation to prepare the trip of his president to Rwanda.

Sezibera said the new leader has good will to help solve the issue of armed groups operating from DRC which have intention to sabotage Rwandan security.
