Brazilian coach Roberto Luiz Bianchi Pelliser set to take over Rayon Sports FC

Rayon Sports Fc are in advanced talks with Brazilian coach Brazil Roberto Luiz Bianchi Pelliser to replace Belgian Ivan Minnaert who was sacked a week ago alongside his assistants.

The development comes after the club’s ExtraOrdinary General Assembly which convened on Sunday at Kanyinya Hills Hotel in in Shyorongi town.

The 51-year old coach formerly coach Angola’s National Team and Angola’s league champions Petro Athletico of Luanda. He is expected in Kigali today to finalise talks with the club.

The Rayon Sports FC congress also took the decision to terminate the contract of their veteran and experienced goal keeper Eric Ndayishimiye.

Reigning champions Rayon Sports FC who lost to their archrivals APR Fc 2-1 on Friday took the decision to terminate Ndayishimiye after last week’s incident where he faked injury and conspired against his own team to lose in a bid to get head Coach Ivan Minneart fired.

Ndayishimiye was initially suspended after he feigned an injury to miss the league match against Musanze FC two weeks ago, which ended in a goalless draw at Ubworoherane Stadium but was later pardoned prior to the derby match after he apologized to the fans and the entire team.

But members who attended Sunday’s match agreed to get rid of the 30-year old goalie.

Among other resolutions taken at the session, Rayon Sports FC elected Muhirwa Freddy as the club’s vice president replacing Muhirwa Prosper who is serving a two-year suspension imposed to him by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after he violated the CAF Disciplinary Code and Statutes during their away return leg of the Champions league against Lydia Ludic Academic of Burundi on February 21, 2018.

With four match rounds left to the end of the 2017/2018 league, Rayon Sports are in third place with 45 points, nine adrift of table leaders APR who have 54 points and six points behind second-placed AS Kigali who have 51 points.
