The Rwandan franc has gained against the US dollar in the past two weeks from Rfw 849 to Rwf 845.
At a major down-town Nyabugogo bus terminal linking Rwanda to the region, the US dollar is buying at Rwf 845 and sold higher at Rwf 854.
According to Kennedy Mbarubukeye, a Forex bureau owner in Nyabugogo bus terminal, the continuous fluctuation of the dollar is affecting businesses that use it on a daily basis.
“May be it is a decision from National Bank of Rwanda to allow less US currency into circulation,” he said.
Meanwhile as of Monday morning, the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) updated its exchange rates which compulsorily affect prices in forex bureaus in the country.
