Rwanda’s National Carrier RwandAir will next year start flights to Israel, a top official announced.

“It’s always a pleasure and privilege to meet with Yvonne Makolo – CEO of RwandAir for discussion on opening next year a regular service to Tel Aviv, Israel,” Tweeted Raphael Morav – Israel Ambassador to Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burundi.

In August this year, RwandAir announced plans to increase the number of travel passengers from 926,571 to 1,151,300, during fiscal year 2018/2019, representing an increase of 24%.

The increase, according to RwandAir officials, will be triggered by addition of 4 new destinations including; Addis Ababa, Guangzhou, TelAviv, Guinea and New York City – bringing the number of destinations to 31.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Morav has meet several top government officials including Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Richard Sezibera, Agriculture Minister Dr. Geraldine Mukeshimana and Rwanda Development Board (RDB) Chief Executive Officer Clare Akamanzi, among others.
