Sudanese representatives El Hilal Sports Club El Obeid arrived in Rwanda’s capital Kigali Wednesday afternoon ahead of the return leg clash of the CAF Confederations Cup slated for Saturday at Stade Huye.

A delegation composed of 34 members arrived in the country at 15:10 aboard Ethiopian Airways. Upon arrival, they were escorted to Huye District where they will be residing at Galileo Hotel until they return back to Sudan on Christmas Eve.

The team managed by former Gor Mahia Coach British Francis Elliott Nuttall will hold two training sessions as mandated by CAF at Stade Huye today afternoon and Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s match.

Both Mukura VS and El Hilal Sports Club El Obeid played a goalless draw in the first leg played last week in Sudan.

Hosts Mukura VS need to win the home leg to be assured a chance of progressing to the next and final round which will grant passage to the lucrative group stages.

Mukura VS head coach Christian Francis Haringingo told local media this week, “Football is an unpredictable game but we need to forget what happened in the first leg and prepare for the return leg because we want to have a very good game in Huye. There is no doubt we are in a good situation of reaching in next stage,” he said.

Mukura VS secured a slot in the round of 32 after beating South Africa’s Free State Stars 1-0 in the return-leg clash of the preliminary.

They returned to the competition after an 18-year hiatus, the first time since 2000 when they got eliminated from the first round by Ethiopia’s Awassa City 2-1 on aggregate score.
