18 Clubs Confirm Participation in 2019 Peace Cup Edition

Mukura VS will take part in the 2019 Peace Cup edition seeking to retain the title they won last year.

Eighteen clubs have expressed their interest to participate in the 2019 edition of the annual Peace Cup which is slated to start in June this year.

The development was confirmed on May 1 by Rwanda Football Federation. In a statement posted on their website, the clubs confirmed their participation by paying a Rwf. 100,000 as mandated by the FERWAFA Competition Regulation and met the deadline of April 25, 2019 which was set by the soccer governing body.

Nine first Division one clubs namely SC Kiyovu, AS Kigali, Rayon Sports FC, Sunrise FC, Police FC, APR FC, Mukura VS, Bugesera FC and Gicumbi FC confirmed their participation by meeting the requirements set in the FERWAFA Competitions Regulations.

In second division, nine clubs namely Hope FC, Etoile de l’est FC, Interforce FC, Gasogi Utd, Unity Sports Club, Vision FC and Intare FC, Isonga football academy and Rwamagana city FC confirmed their participation as well.

In women football league, nine clubs namely ES Mutunda WFC, Inyemera WFC, Rugende WFC, Bugesera WFC, Kamonyi WFC, AS Kabuye, AS Kigali, Gakenke WFC and Scandinavia WFC.

The playing format for this year’s Peace Cup Competition will be approved by the FERWAFA Executive Committee in their session scheduled this week.
