Rwandan Nzafashwanayo Jean Claude defied odds as he cruised to victory of sixth lap of the sixth edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon held on Friday in Douala, Cameroon.
Nzafashwanayo won the 82km closed circuit in the city of Douala race in 02h03’01’, edging Cameroon Herve Raoul Mba (Cameroon) and Varhanovsky Jakub (Slovakia) in a sprint finish.
Reigning Tour du Cameroon champion Rwandan Uwizeyimana Bonaventure finished a distant eighth in 02h03’33”. Uwizeyimana is the best ranked Rwandan on the general classification, sitting ninth, coming one minute and sixteen seconds behind Cameroonian Kamzong.
Action continues on Saturday with riders set to embark on 109.km from Loum to Dschang.
